FORDHAM FOOTBALL TO MAKE TWO TELEVISION APPEARANCES IN 2004

(August 3, 2004) ?C All seven Patriot League football teams will appear on live television at least once this season as at least 21 of the 56 games (37.5% of the season) involving Patriot League teams this season are scheduled for regional or national broadcasts. The Fordham University football Rams will join the list on Saturday, September 18th as they travel into Manhattan to face the Columbia University Lions at 7:00 p.m. in a game that will be televised live by the YES Network. Fordham will make one other appearance on television in 2004 when they host the Lafayette College Leopards on October 23rd at 1:00 p.m. on Jack Coffey Field in a game that will be broadcast by the Lafayette Sports Network. The game will be carried by RCN and the Empire Sports Network. Fordham, coming off a 9-3 season last fall, enters the 2004 campaign with a new head coach, Ed Foley. Foley served as the offensive coordinator the past five years under former head coach Dave Clawson, who is now the head coach at the University of Richmond. On the field, the Rams will be led by senior captains Jared Amatuzzo, NaQuinton Gainous, Ed Gordon and Tad Kornegay, who has been a consensus preseason All-American at cornerback. Over the past three years, Fordham has compiled a 26-10 record, the 14th best winning percentage among I-AA teams. The Rams open camp on August 9th with the first day of practice slated for August 11th. Fordham will open its 2004 season on Saturday, September 4th when they host the University of Rhode Island on Jack Coffey Field at 1:00 p.m.
