(August 19, 2004) ?C The Fordham University cheerleading squad got their season off to a successful start as the Rams recently competed at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Collegiate Camp at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut.
The Rams, under new head coach Lynette Rivera, took first in the Sideline Competition and were chosen as the Most Collegiate team at the camp.
Also at the UCA camp, the Rams were selected to participate in an interview for MTV U (MTV University) concerning college cheerleading and cheerleading camps. Both Fordham captains, Brittany Mizell and Katie Barravechia, were interviewed with the program scheduled to air within the next few weeks.
The Fordham Cheerleading team has returned to Rose Hill as they prepare for the 2004 football season opener on Saturday, September 4th against Rhode Island on Jack Coffey Field at 1:00 p.m.
