(June 26, 2004) - The University was saddened to learn about the tragic death of Lacey Benvenuto, a rising sophomore in the College of Business Administration. Lacey, a member of the women??s swim team, was struck and killed early Friday by a passing vehicle while riding her bicycle near her home in Allendale, N.J.
The wake for Lacey is being held on Monday, June 28th at Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ramsey, NJ from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
The funeral mass is on Tuesday, June 29th at St. Paul Church in Ramsey, NJ at 10 AM. Following the service a repass will take place at Northern Highland High School.
Lacey, a graduate of Northern Highlands Regional High School, competed in backstroke events for Fordham. While a student at Northern Highlands Regional, she set school records in the 50 and 100 backstroke, as well as in the 200-medley relay and 200 free relay.
The Counseling Center and Campus Ministry are providing support services for members of the University community.
