(March 15, 2004) ?C Fordham University sophomore Phil Bednarczyk (Hamden, CT/Notre Dame) was named Atlantic 10 Men??s Tennis Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 14th. Fordham opened its 2004 spring season by splitting a pair of matches, defeating St. Peter??s College, 4-3, while falling to Adelphi University, 5-2. Bednarczyk was a perfect 2-0 in singles action on the week, playing at fifth singles. He defeated St. Peter??s Matt Trytell, 7-5, 6-7 and 6-0, and then shut out Adelphi??s Mike Stansfield, 6-0 and 6-0.
