(May 2, 2004) ?C Martin Maguire shot a two-over par 74, while Gabe Allen shot a 75 in the final round of the Atlantic 10 Championships, as the Fordham golf team placed fourth out of 11 teams, the highest ever finish for the Rams since joining the Atlantic 10. In the award ceremony following the conclusion of the final round, Fordham head coach Paul Dillon was voted Atlantic 10 Golf Coach of the Year. Rhode Island won the team title with a three-round score of 883, followed by Xavier (884), Richmond (887), Fordham (917), and Saint Joseph??s (923). Following his 74 today, Maguire finish in a tie for 18th with a three-round score of 229, while Allen carded a three-day score of 231, good for a tie for 25th. Teammate Brian McClure also tied for 25th with a 231 score after shooting a 77 in the final round. Jesse Clark also shot a 77 in the final round to finish in a tie for 28th with a score of 233, while Matt Wholey finished in 49th with a total score of 243.
