(May 24, 2004) - The Fordham Baseball team enters the 2004 Atlantic 10 Tournament as the #5 Seed. This is Fordham??s third trip to the Atlantic 10 Tournament, and the first since 1998, when they won the Atlantic 10 title. The Rams have a 2-2 all-time record at the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
They lost both of their contests in the 1997 Tournament to Xavier (6-1) and Massachusetts (14-6), while they won both contests in the 1998 Tournament against George Washington (14-5) and Virginia Tech (3-1), en route to their lone Atlantic 10 title.
THE GAMES: The Atlantic 10 Tournament opens at noon with the #5 seed Fordham University Rams (24-25-1) versus #4 seed St. Bonaventure Bonnies (25-20). The game will be broadcast on radio via the St. Bonaventure website at www.gobonnies.com.
Live stats will also be available through GameTracker on the Atlantic 10 website, as well as on CollegeSports.com.
That game will be followed by #6 seed Duquesne (21-26) versus #3 seed Richmond (31-22) at 3:30 PM. The losers of both games will face off at 7:00 PM in an elimination contest.
THE OPPONENTS: Joining Fordham in this year??s Atlantic 10 Tournament is Rhode Island, George Washington, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, and Duquesne.
Fordham has a 3-9 record against these opponents this season, with the Rams posting one win each against Richmond, Rhode Island, and St. Bonaventure. The Rams were swept by George Washington, while Fordham did not play Duquesne this season.
TICKET INFORMATION: For the Atlantic 10 Tournament, there are no complimentary admissions and the stands will be cleared after each game. Fans can purchase a day pass and remain in Dodd Memorial Stadium for all three games. Ticket prices will be as follows:
