FORDHAM SOFTBALL ANNOUNCES THE SIGNING OF ALLISON STORC FOR 2005 SEASON

(May 17, 2004) - Fordham Softball Coach Bridget Baxter announced the signing of one recruit today as catcher Allison Storc (Boynton Beach, FL/Santaluces) will suit up for the Rams in 2005. She joins an already strong class with pitcher Rachael Wiggins (Conklin, NY/Susquehanna Valley), utility player Allison Twarowski (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee), shortstop Laura Klaiber (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), and second base/outfielder Karly Gonzales (Tempe, AZ/Xavier College Prep). Storc, a senior at Santaluces High School, is a two-year captain and four-year varsity starter at catcher. This past season, she hit .372 with 23 RBI and was a First Team All-Conference selection. She was also the recipient of the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award as a senior. Prior to this season, she was a Second Team All-Area selection and plays summer ball for the Palm Beach Lady Gators. The Fordham Softball team just concluded their season with their second straight Atlantic 10 Tournament appearance and a 35-24-1 record. Founded in 1841, Fordham is New York City's Jesuit University. With 22 men's and women's varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women's rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-AA) for football.
