(February 2, 2004) ?C Fordham University freshman swimmer Ayse Caglar (Istanbul, Turkey/Lycee Pierre Loti) was named Atlantic 10 Women??s Swimming Rookie of the Week for the week ending of February 1st. Caglar won the 500 freestyle (5:05.55) and took second in the 1000 free (10:28.71) at the Massachusetts dual meet on Saturday. Caglar currently owns Fordham??s fastest 500 freestyle time (5:03.07) and set a school record earlier this year with a 10:21.59 clocking in the 1000 freestyle. She also has the second fastest 1000 free time and the third best 500 free time in the Atlantic 10 this year. The Rams will next be in action on Wednesday, February 4th as they host St. Francis College in the Col. Francis B. Messmore pool at 6:00 p.m. in the final home meet of the year.
