(October 4, 2004) ?C Fordham University freshman Matthew Flynn (Smithtown, NY/St. Anthony??s) was named Atlantic 10 Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the week of September 27th - October 3rd. The Rams competed in the 2004 Metropolitan Championships on Friday, October 1st at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx where Flynn led the squad to a sixth place finish. Flynn was the top Fordham runner, covering the 8K course in a time of 26:03.0 which placed him 14th overall. The time was also Flynn??s best cross country time of the season. On the year, Flynn has been the top Fordham finisher at all three cross country meets, leading the Rams to a third place team showing at the Ram Invitational on September 18th and a fourth place showing at the Fordham Invitational on September 11th. Fordham will next be in action on Sunday, October 17th as the Rams compete in the Red Storm Invitational in Oakdale, NY.
