FORDHAM??S JOHN BLACKGROVE TO MISS REST OF SEASON

(January 15, 2004) ?C Fordham University sophomore guard John Blackgrove will miss the rest of the 2003-04 season due to a back injury suffered in a game against Western Kentucky on December 30th it was announced today. Blackgrove, who had been the only Ram to start every game this year, scored a career-high 30 points in the loss to Western Kentucky and was averaging 14.2 ppg and 2.2 rpg through the first ten games. He was shooting a team-best 40.6% (26-64) from three-point range on the year. The Rams will continue their 2004 Atlantic 10 schedule on Saturday, January 17th when they host the University of Dayton in the Rose Hill Gym at 12:00 p.m. in a game that will be televised live by the Atlantic 10 Network. Blackgrove is one of three Fordham starters to go down with injuries this year, joining senior guard/forward Mark Jarrell-Wright and sophomore guard Drew Williamson. Jarrell-Wright, who is averaging 15.3 ppg, had knee surgery on December 19th and has missed the past eight games, while Williamson, who is averaging 6.5 ppg, suffered a sprained ankle in Fordham??s game at Rhode Island on January 4th and missed three games. Both are game-day decisions for the Dayton game on Saturday.
