(September 22, 2003) - Fordham University's senior middle hitter Roxanne Hill (Colorado Springs, CO/Doherty) and freshman outside hitter Tasha Johston (Hesperia, CA/Hesperia) were named Atlantic 10 Volleyball Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for games through September 21st. This is Hill's and Johnston's first career Atlantic 10 honor.
Hill and Johnston helped guide Fordham to a 3-1 record on the week, as the Rams won the Broncs Invitational, hosted by Rider University. Hill received All-Tournament honors for the third time this season, as she hit an impressive .368 in three matches, committing just seven errors in 13 games. She also averaged 4.0 kills per game in the tournament with 10 service aces. Her top performances came against Army, where she had a double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs, and host Rider, where she recorded 16 kills and eight digs.
Johnston anchored the Rams' defense at the Broncs Invitational, recording 60 digs in 13 games for a 4.62 average, which included a career-high 24 versus Rider. Offensively, she added 26 kills and a double-double against Rider with 11 kills and 24 digs.
