(August 28, 2003) - Fordham Women's Soccer Head Coach Ness Selmani annouced the hiring of Kirstin Gellatly as an assistant coach today. Gellatly, who graudated from Rose Hill last spring, should be a very familiar face as she was a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selection in 2002 as a member of the Fordham Women??s Soccer team.
Gellatly joins the coaching staff after a remarkable three-year career with the Rams, where she ranks second on the all-time goals and points scored list with 33 goals and 73 points. She also had seven career assists, which ties her for sixth on the Fordham all-time list. Gellatly also finished her career with eight career multi-goal games.
Her finest season came in 2001 where she broke the school??s single-season records with 14 goals and 31 points. Her 14 goals led the Atlantic 10 conference and she tied for first in points, while she ranked among the top 20 in the NCAA in both categories. With her help, the Fordham Women??s Soccer team posted their first 10-win season and took runner-up honors at the 2001 ECAC Tournament.
Prior to arriving at Fordham, Gellatly played one season at the University of Pittsburgh, where she led the team in scoring, was named team MVP, and earned Big East All-Freshman Team honors.
She graduated from Fordham with a degree in communications and media studies.
