(August 21, 2003) - Fordham Women's Volleyball Head Coach Megan Gamble annouced the hiring of Rob Lutz as an assistant coach today.
Lutz comes to Fordham after one season at Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN, where he was an assistant coach as well as interim head coach. At Tusculum, he served as recruiting coordinator, team travel coordinator, tournament director, director of fundraising, while also helping with scheduling. He was also a scholastic achievement team leader.
Lutz, a native of San Diego, CA, came to the Greeneville campus after serving as head coach for the California Juniors Volleyball Club in Long Beach, CA since 1998. He was also the head boys and girls volleyball coach at Warren High School in Downey, CA, where he had 10 players selected to the First or Second Team All-League.
He has been very active in NCAA Volleyball over the years. He has been a member of the NCAA Division I Athletics Steering Committee and served as a NCAA I volleyball official for both men and women. Lutz has also served as a skills coach for numerous volleyball clinics including those at Long Beach State, UC Santa Barbara, the University of Kentucky, University of Tennessee, and Clemson University. He holds memberships in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA).
Lutz is a 1995 graduate of California State University at Long Beach where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Speech Communication. He was a Dean??s Honor Roll Athlete as a member of the fencing team.

With 22 men??s and women??s varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women??s rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-AA) for football.
