(July 2, 2003) ?C Allison Sims, former Atlantic 10 Championships Intern, was named Director of Women??s Basketball Operations at Fordham University it was announced today by head women??s basketball coach Jim Lewis.
??Allison Sims brings a great deal of experience to the Fordham University women??s basketball program,?? said Lewis. ??We are extremely fortunate to have found someone of her caliber for this position and are excited that she is joining our staff.??
Sims comes to Rose Hill after spending last year as the Atlantic 10 Championships Intern. At the conference office, she was responsible for assisting with the administration and planning of 22 sport championships as well as assisting with overseeing the regular season competition for field hockey, men??s and women??s soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, softball and baseball.
Prior to her stint at the Atlantic 10, Sims was a Graduate Assistant with the Temple University women??s basketball program from 2000-2002. At Temple, she assisted in daily operational activities, including assisting with the Temple Athletic Marketing and Promotions Office to increase attendance and awareness of the women??s basketball program.
Sims also worked as an intern with the Dawn Staley Foundation in 2001, assisting in daily operation of the foundation, including the After School Program and Summer Basketball League.
A 1999 graduate of Lehigh University with a degree in Business and Economics, Sims earned a Master??s of Education degree in Sports and Recreation Administration from Temple in 2002. At Lehigh, she was a four-year member of the women??s basketball team, serving as a team captain as a junior and senior.
