Fordham University junior Xer-Li Woo (Selangor, Malaysia/Assunta Secondary) and freshman Christina Papa (Teaneck, NJ/Academy of Holy Angels) were named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for women??s tennis, respectively, for the week ending April 13th it was announced today.
Woo went 3-0 at first singles in three Fordham wins on the week and she teamed with Danielle Spigner to go 3-0 at first doubles. In the first match of the week, Woo defeated Providence??s Cheri Lapane (6-3, 6-2) in Fordham??s 6-1 win. She then bested Amy Crump of Holy Cross (6-3, 6-1) in the Rams?? 5-2 win and then closed out the week with a victory over Rhode Island??s Cynthia Taylor (6-1, 6-3) in a 6-1 Atlantic 10 win.
Woo is now 12-4 in singles play and 9-5 in doubles action this year as Fordham moves to 9-4 overall this season.

In the first match of the week, Papa defeated Providence??s Sara Bitetti (6-2, 6-2) in Fordham??s 6-1 win. She then bested Missy Crump of Holy Cross (6-1, 6-1) in the Rams?? 5-2 win and then closed out the week with a victory over Rhode Island??s Erin Fleming (6-1, 6-0) in a 6-1 Atlantic 10 win.
Papa is now 11-5 overall in singles play in 2002-03 and 12-5 in doubles action.
