(December 2, 2003) - Fordham Women's Basketball Coach Jim Lewis announced the signing of three recruits for the 2004-05 season today, as the Rams signed point guard Nikki Bozeman (Clinton, MD/Bishop McNamara), wing player Antelia Parrish (Clinton, MD/Bishop McNamara), and shooting guard Heather Westrol (Red Bank, NJ/Red Bank Catholic).
Bozeman and Parrish both play for Bishop McNamara High School, which is currently the #1-ranked girls' high school basketball team by The Washington Post and Street & Smith's, while ranked second by USA Today.
Parrish, a 6'0" wing player, was a Nike All-American and a Street & Smith's Honorable Mention All-American last season after averaging 14 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists a game. She was a First Team All-Metropolitan selection, as well as earning First Team All-County and First Team All-Conference honors. She was also selected to the All-Tournament teams at the End of Oregon Trail Tournament and the USJN Tournament.
Bozeman, a 5'7" point guard, was also a Street & Smith Honorable Mention All-American last season, after averaging 10 points, 6.5 assists, and three steals a game. She earned Honorable Mention All-Metropolitan Honors as a junior, while being named Second Team All-County and Third Team All-Conference. Like her teammate, she was also named to the All-Tournament team at the End of Oregon Trail Tournament.
Westrol, a 5'8" shooting guard, was also a Street & Smith Honorable Mention All-American selection and is serving as team captain this year at Red Bank Catholic. Last season, she helped the team to a 25-1 record and the 2003 Shore Conference Championship. A First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-County pick, she led the team in scoring at 13 points per game and in three-point field goals, and was named MVP of the Diamond State Classic Christmas Tourney in Wilmington, DE.
