(December 15, 2003) ?C Fordham University indoor track and field student-athletes achieved a clean sweep of the weekly Atlantic 10 awards with Mike Rozea (Lynbrook, NY/Chaminade HS) being named Men??s performer of the Week, Reshard Hicks (Tampa, FL/Robinson HS) Men??s Rookie of the Week, Christina Scott (Hawley, PA/Wallenpaupack HS) Women??s Performer of the Week and Danica Dupuy (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore HS) Women??s Rookie of the Week.
Fordham competed at the Fordham Christmas Invitational on Friday, December 12th where the Rams finished second in both the men??s and women??s team competitions.
Rozea, a junior, took first place in the 500m dash in a time of 1:07.3 which was a season-best time for the Rams.
Hicks, a freshman who just joined the track and field squad after competing with the football team in the fall, scored in three different events, recording marks of 6-6 in the high jump and 21-6 ? in the long jump, placing second and fifth, respectively, while also tying for fifth in the 60m dash (7.1).
Scott, a senior, finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 26.04 and ran a leg of the 4x400m relay that placed third in a time of 4:05.4.
Dupuy, a freshman, captured Fordham??s lone individual event win for the women, taking first place in the 800m dash in a time of 2:23.84. The time was the fourth-fastest time in the Atlantic 10 this season.
