(November 6, 2003) ?C Fordham University senior forward Michael Haynes (Columbia, SC/Millersburg Academy) was named Third Team Preseason All-Atlantic 10 by vote of the league's coaches and media members it was announced today at Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Media Day in Philadelphia.
Haynes, a 6-8, 215-pound forward, averaged 15.1 ppg and 8.0 rpg last year, both team highs. He was ranked in the top ten in both categories in the conference, finishing ninth in scoring and fourth in rebounding. Haynes also had 57 assists (fourth best on team), 28 steals and 15 blocks in 2002-03 and was ranked eighth in field goal percentage in the Atlantic 10. He scored in double digits in 24 of his 27 games.
The Rams open the 2003-04 exhibition season on Saturday when they host the Connecticut Stars at 6:00 p.m. in the Rose Hill Gym and open the regular season by traveling to Memphis, Tennessee to face the University of Memphis on Saturday, November 22nd at 7:00 p.m.
