(November 24, 2003) ?C Fordham University senior wide receiver Javarus Dudley (Miramar, FL/American Heritage) was named Patriot League Co-Offensive Player of the Week for games of November 22nd.
Fordham closed out the 2003 season with a 35-22 Patriot League win over Towson University on Saturday as the Rams finish the season with a 9-3 overall record. The nine wins ties the Fordham school record for most regular season wins since moving to the NCAA I-AA in1989.
Dudley caught ten passes for 246 yards and four touchdowns in the Towson win. The 246 receiving yards broke the Fordham single game record of 233 set by Ed Brown against New York University in 1952. It also brought his season total to 1,439, breaking the Patriot League record of 1,322 set by Towson??s Jamal White in 1999. Dudley, who leads the NCAA I-AA in receptions per game with an 8.42 average, closes out the season with 101 catches for 1,439 yards, both Patriot League and school records.
The game was the second career four-touchdown game for Dudley, who ties the Patriot League and school record with the four receiving scores. The four scores bring his season total to 14, breaking Gerry McDermott??s 1999 school record of 13.
