(October 27, 2003) ?C Fordham University senior wide receiver Javarus Dudley (Miramar, FL/American Heritage) was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week while freshman placekicker Micah Clukey (St. Augustine, FL/St. Augustine) was named Freshman of the Week for games of October 25th.
Fordham, the 2002 Patriot League Co-Champions, picked up its sixth win of the year with a 32-30 Patriot League win over Lafayette College on Saturday.
Dudley made a career-high 13 catches for 203 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The 203 yards is the fourth best single game total in Fordham history and the second career 200-yard game for Dudley. He also returned three kickoffs for 48 yards and one punt for 19 yards.
On the year, Dudley has caught 68 passes for 895 yards and seven touchdowns. He leads the league in receptions per game (8.50) and is second in receiving yards per game (111.9). This year he became the Patriot League's all-time leading receiver with 262 career receptions for 3,653 yards.
Clukey connected on all four of his field goal attempts in the Lafayette win, including a game winning 31-yarder with 27 seconds remaining. The four field goals is one shy of the Fordham and Patriot League record set by Fordham's Matt Fordyce last year.
This is the second Freshman of the Week honor for Clukey this fall. On the year, he has connected on ten of his 11 field goal attempts as well as converting 31 of 34 PATs. He leads the Patriot League in scoring by a kicker, averaging 7.6 points/game and is second in field goals average with 1.25/game.
