FORDHAM'S RIAD MEHOVIC AND PATRICK MCNAMEE EARN WEEKLY ATLANTIC 10 HONORS

(October 27, 2003) - Fordham University junior Riad Mehovic (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) and freshman Patrick McNamee (West Hartford, CT/Conrad) earned weekly Atlantic 10 honors as Mehovic was named Co-Player of the Week, while McNamee was the Rookie of the Week. This is Mehovic's first career Atlantic 10 honor, while it is McNamee's second citation this season. The duo helped the Rams to a 2-0 conference record on the week, as the team defeated both Xavier and 20th-ranked Dayton via shutout. It was only the second time Fordham has swept the two Ohio based teams since joining the conference back in 1995. Mehovic, Fordham's leading scorer, was the top offensive threat this weekend as he scored two goals and added an assist. He scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 shutout of 20th ranked Dayton on Sunday, while having a goal and an assist in the Rams' 3-0 victory over Xavier on Friday. McNamee also had a big hand in the win over Xavier as he had a goal and an assist in the contest. The Fordham Men's Soccer team is currently 4-9-1 on the year, 3-5-0 in the Atlantic 10 with conference games this week at George Washington on Friday, October 31 at 2:00 PM and at Richmond on Saturday, November 1st at 7:00 PM. With 22 men??s and women??s varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women??s rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-AA) for football.
