(October 16, 2003) - Fordham University junior defender Corey Dunfey (Cape Elizabeth, ME/Cape Elizabeth) was selected to Soccer Buzz Magazine's Elite Team of the Week for games through October 12th.
Dunfey helped Fordham to two conference wins this weekend, as the Rams pushed their conference record to 4-0-1 in the Atlantic 10, good for sole possesion of first place in the conference. Dunfey had two goals and three assists this weekend, as she had a goal and an assist in the Rams' 7-0 win over Temple on Friday, while having a goal and two assists in Sunday's 4-3 win over Saint Joseph's. She has now set career highs this season with four goals and seven assists for 15 points. The seven assists also ties the Fordham record for assists in a single-season, set by Corrine Jankowski in 1999.
The Fordham Women's Soccer team is currently 8-3-1 overall on the year, and is unbeaten in their last seven games (6-0-1). Fordham will be in action this week with home Atlantic 10 games against Rhode Island on Friday, October 17th at 2:00 PM and against Massachusetts on Sunday, October 19th at 1:00 PM.
