A day before the varsity team opens their season, the Fordham University junior varsity squad turned in an impressive showing by blanking Milford Academy 30-0 on Murphy Field.
The Fordham defense was the key as they held Milford in check the entire game. Leading the way was freshman Chris Anzano who intercepted two passes, returning one of those 30 yards for a touchdown.
Offensively, freshman running back James Prydatko led the ground game, consistently picking up yardage throughout the game while freshman quarterback Kyle Basanez enjoyed a solid first half. Wide receiver Nathan Pierce, who is moving over to offense after playing defensive back last year, hauled in a long touchdown pass for the Rams.
The varsity Rams open the 2002 season on Saturday, September 7th when they host the St. Peter's College Peacocks on Jack Coffey Field at 1:00 p.m. For ticket information contact the Fordham Ticket Office at 718-817-4300 or
