Dudley, Watson Named Preseason All-America

Fordham University junior wide receiver Javarus Dudley and junior running back Kirwin Watson were both named to the Football Gazette Preseason I-AA All-America Team. Dudley was named Second Team at both wide receiver and kickoff returner while Watson was named Third Team running back. Last year, Dudley caught 69 passes for 1,061 yards and nine touchdowns. The 1,061 yards was a school record while the 69 catches and nine touchdowns were both second best in school history. The First Team All-Patriot League pick led the league and was 12th in the NCAA Division I-AA in all-purpose yardage (166.1 yards/game) and he also led the Patriot League and was 17th in the NCAA Division I-AA in kickoff returns (26.3 yards/return). He was second in the Patriot League, 16th in NCAA I-AA, in receiving yards/game (96.5) and third in the league in receptions per game (6.27), 15th in the NCAA I-AA. Watson was the leading rusher in the Patriot League last fall, carrying 211 times for 1,076 yards and six touchdowns. His 1,076 yards were the fourth best in Fordham history, the most by a running back on the I-AA level at Fordham and the third best season total in Fordham history. Watson, a First Team All-Patriot League selection last fall, finished 25th in the NCAA in rushing.
