(September 30, 2002) - Freshman golfer Matt Wholey was named Atlantic 10 Golf Rookie of the Week after an impressive showing at the Toski Invitational this weekend.
Wholey shot a three over-par 147 (75-72) to place in a tie for 15th overall at the Toski Invitational. He helped Fordham to their second top ten finish of the year as the Rams placed sixth out of 25 teams.
The Fordham Golf team will next be in action this weekend as they play in Binghamton, NY at the ECAC Championships.
Founded in 1841, Fordham is New York City's Jesuit University. With 22 men's and women's varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women's rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-AA) for football.
