(Nov. 22, 2002)- Fordham Softball Coach Bridget Baxter announced the signing of one recruit today as the Rams signed outfielder/catcher Krystle Henry (Maywood , NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy).
Henry, a senior at Immaculate Heart Academy was unstoppable as a junior, hitting .510 for the year with 53 hits, 34 runs, 17 stolen bases, and 30 RBI. Behind the plate, she also excelled as she threw out five of 10 runners last season, while not commtting an error all season. She helped Immaculate Heart Academy to a 31-1 record and to the #1 ranking in New Jersey, and 26th ranking in the nation. Last season, she was selected to the All-State, All-Parochial, All-North, All-County, and All-League First Teams. Over the summer she played for the ASA New Jersey Pride, where she hit .412 with 14 hits and five RBI.
Founded in 1841, Fordham is New York City's Jesuit University. With 22 men's and women's varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women's rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-AA) for football.
