Fordham University freshman guard Adrian Walton (Harlem, NY/Bronx Regional) was named the Atlantic 10 Men??s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 19 th . On the week the Rams had one game, an 83-72 loss at Saint Joseph??s University on January 16 th . In that game Walton scored a game-high 21 points, hitting ten of his 15 field goal attempts, and he added five assists, three rebounds and one steal. Since moving into the starting lineup three games ago, Walton is averaging 17.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.7 assists game and 3.0 steals/game while the Rams are 2-1 over those three games. On the year Walton, who was named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Rookie Team, is averaging 7.7 ppg and 1.9 rpg while dishing out 18 assists and notching 22 steals. Walton is a graduate of Bronx Regional High School where he led the squad to the Alternate High School Cham-pionship last winter. He was the leading scorer at Bronx Regional averaging 26.0 ppg while also averaging 10.0 assists/game and 6.0 rpg. Walton was rated as the seventh best 12 th grader in New York City in the class of 2001 by RivalsHoops.com as well as the ninth best point guard in the country by The Sporting News.
