Fordham University's freshman defender Corey Dunfey (Cape Elizabeth, ME/Cape Elizabeth) was named to the 2001 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, as the conference named its all-conference teams today. Dunfey made an impact from the start in her debut season with the Rams, starting all 18 games this season and earning Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week honors in late September. She posted four goals and one assist for nine points this year, first among Fordham freshmen, with all four goals being game-winners. She also was a stalwart on the defensive side as well, helping the Rams to a school record eight shutouts, which broke the previous record of six in 1996, and a school record low 1.02 goals against average, allowing just 19 goals in 18 games.
