O'Connor was named the USTFCCA Division I Men's Cross Country National Athlete of the Week, as well as Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week after an outstanding performance at the 2014 Metropolitan Championship.  He won the five-mile race in 25:51, becoming the second Ram in the last four years to win the individual crown.  More importantly though, Fordham would win the team title for just the second time with the only other Metropolitan title coming in 1964.
