Biestek, a 2013 Academic All-American®, was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of teh Week on Monday. He recorded a career-high nine tackles against Lafayette, seven solo. Included in the nine where four sacks as the Fordham defense held Lafayette to 258 yards of total offense. His four sacks tie Biestek with three other players for most in a single game in the FCS this year.
On the year, Biestek has recorded 21 total tackles, 18 solo, including 8.0 for loss and 6.0 sacks. He also has three quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles. He is second in the Patriot League and eleventh in the NCAA FCS in sacks/game and is second in the league in tackles for loss.
