Mercurio earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in two events at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship, while setting six school records.  He was second in the 50 freestyle in 20.02 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 47.98 seconds, both school records, while taking fourth in the 100 freestyle (44.55).  He was then a part of school records in the 200 and 400 medley relays and the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.
