Dawson named STATS FCS National Defensive Player of the Week as well as Corvias Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after a superb performance in Fordham's 24-16 Patriot League win over Bucknell. He made a season-high ten tackles, eight solo, including two sacks for a loss of 25 yards. He also forced a fumble, broke up a pass and intercepted a two-point conversion pass that would have given Bucknell an 18-17 lead with 1:44 remaining. Dawson also recovered the ensuing onside kick for the Rams. His first sack was also a forced fumble that was recovered by Fordham and led to the Rams' first score of the second half that gave Fordham a 17-10 lead.
