Shannon Misiaszek

  • Title
    Volunteer Goalkeeper Coach
  • Alma Mater
    Fordham '04

Shannon Misiaszek has returned to Fordham in 2013 as a volunteer coach in charges of the goalkeepers.  She had previously served as a goalkeeper coach for Fordham in 2006.

Just like fellow assistant coach Casey Sommers, Misiaszek is also a former player at Rose Hill, as she served as the starting netminder for four seasons (2000-03), and holds most of the Fordham goalkeeping records.

She still holds the career marks for goals against average, shutouts, and starts in goal, while holding the single season marks for goals against average (1.08) and shutouts (8).  An Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selection in 2000, she eventually served as a two-year team captain and helped Fordham to a #2 seed at the 2003 Atlantic 10 Tournament.

Prior to her first stint at Fordham, Misiaszek was an assistant coach at Manhattanville College, where she helped in every aspect of the program.  On the field, she helped the Valiants advance to the Skyline Conference Tournament, and assisted in the development of Manhattanville’s lone all-conference selection in 2005, goalkeeper Michele Ribeiro.

Misiaszek’s previous coaching experience includes working in soccer camps as a counselor and as a recreational league coach.  She graduated from Fordham in May 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in biology.  Besides coaching, Misiaszek works as a Chemistry Teacher and JV High School soccer coach at Pearl River High School.
