Gretchen Klinkner joined the Fordham Sports Medicine staff in Fall 2018.

Klinkner came to Fordham after serving as an intern with the New York Jets in the summer of 2018.  Prior to the Jets, she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Syracuse University from 2016 to 2018, earning her master's degree in exercise science in 2018.  Her primary responsibilities at Syracuse were working with the football and rowing teams.  She assisted with prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses for those teams, as well as developing and implementing a hydration protocol for the women's rowing team.

Before Syracuse, Klinkner attended the University of Minnesota Duluth, serving as a student athletic trainer.  A 2016 graduate with a degree in athletic training, she worked with a variety of teams, including the football, men's basketball, volleyball, and women's ice hockey teams.

Klinkner, a BOC certified athletic trainer and New York State licensed athletic trainer, is also CPR, AED and first aid certified by the American Heart Association.
