Sahel Anwar begins his eighth season as the head coach for Fordham Squash, heading into the 2024-25 season. Under his leadership, the team has consistently performed at a high level, achieving significant milestones.
In his first season, the Rams reached the final of the Chaffee Cup at the CSA Team Championship and posted their first 20-win season in recent memory. Nine players achieved 15 or more individual wins, with three surpassing the 20-win mark.
The following season, Anwar led Fordham to another 20-win campaign, capturing the Chaffee Cup title at the CSA Team Championship for the first time in the program's recent history. The Rams went on to repeat this success in the 2019-20 season, winning 21 matches and again taking home the Chaffee Cup.
Fordham continued to perform well under Anwar's leadership, posting another 20-win season in 2022-23, with seven players finishing with records of .500 or better. In 2023-24, the team recorded 21 wins, and the mixed doubles team of Sofia Arseniev and Henry Frawley reached the semifinals of the CSA Mixed Doubles Championship, marking the first time a Fordham duo achieved this feat.
