A standout hurler for the Rams from 2009-2011, Chelsea Plimpton returned to Rose Hill as a pitching coach for the 2013 season and helped lead the Rams to their first A-10 title and NCAA Tournament appearance since she herself stood in the circle.

Since earning her degree in Communications and Media Studies from Fordham in 2011, Plimpton has made a pair of coaching stops, beginning with St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, in the fall of 2011, and more recently, as an assistant coach at Marist University in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

With the Red Foxes, Plimpton helped team finish with a 28-27 overall record, which included a 12-4 home mark, an a trip to the MAAC Tournament.

Plimpton began her collegiate playing career at St. John's, but transferred to Fordham after her freshman year. In three years at Rose Hill, Plimpton compiled a 40-16 lifetime mark, and recorded the third most strikeouts (322) and shutouts (11) in school history. She highlighted her Fordham career by tossing a no-hitter against Princeton in 2010, and followed with career-highs of 17 wins and 149 strikeouts in 2011.

Plimpton, along with teammate Jen Mineau, pitched Fordham to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2010 and 2011, while helping the Rams captured their first Atlantic 10 Championship title and second regular season title in 2011. She was also a part of the team pitching records for earned run average (1.34), strikeouts (636), and shutouts (25), which were all set in 2010.
