Amy Mallah, a five-year member of the St. John’s softball program, was named Assistant Athletic Equipment Manager at Fordham University in October of 2024.
In her position at Fordham Mallah will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment and Purchasing in the equipment support operations for all 22 intercollegiate programs. She will be responsible for leading, directing, and supervising student managers and athletic department interns. She will also serve as the lead in the set-up of equipment for football practices and oversee the breakdown of equipment after practices and games.
Mallah arrives at Fordham after serving as an Athletic Equipment Operations Intern at her alma mater, St. John’s University, in the summer of 2024. She assisted the Equipment Operations Director with daily tasks in the equipment room. She also worked with the Student-Athlete Academic Development and Multimedia departments at St. John’s. As a member of the Academic Development department she tutored Division 1 student-athletes to help achieve academic goals through one-on-one sessions and gave student-athletes studying strategies catered to their learning styles while implementing time management skills. As a member of the Multimedia department Mallah assisted the Director of Multimedia with day to day tasks for the athletic department.
Mallah also served as the Athletic Operations Intern at Molloy College for the summer of 2022. She performed administrative duties as specified by Assistant Athletic Director which included assisting with set-up, operation, and breakdown of the athletic department’s varsity athletic programs and events. Mallah also coordinated game day operations for the East Coast Conference Baseball Playoffs.
A 2023 graduate of St. John’s with a degree in Sports Management with a minor in Communications, Mallah also earned a master’s degree from the school in Sports Management in 2024. She was a member of the Red Storm softball program, serving as a team captain and being named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team from 2020-2024.
