Leah Metcalf

Leah Metcalf joined the Fordham Women's Basketball staff in Summer 2024 as the Rams' Director of Women's Basketball Operations.

Metcalf comes to Fordham after spending 2023-24 as the Director of Scouting and Recruiting at UNC Charlotte. Her wide-ranging basketball experience prior to her season with the 49ers included two years as the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Charlotte Christian High School (2021-23), 13 years playing professionally in Australia and Europe, and a four-year standout career at the University of North Carolina.

At UNC, Metcalf played in 130 career games while making 48 starts in Chapel Hill, eclipsing the 1,000-point plateau during her senior season while adding 500 assists and 382 career rebounds to her career ledger. After graduating in 2005, Metcalf attended two WNBA training camps (Seattle, 2006; Los Angeles, 2007) before making stops in Luxembourg, Sweden, France, Poland, Russia and Australia during her pro career.

Metcalf and Coach Mitchell are also familiar with one another from back when the two shared the floor for Energa Torun for two seasons in Poland from 2011-12. Metcalf graduated from UNC in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.
