Carla Morrow was named associate head coach at Fordham in May of 2026 after serving on the Ohio State women’s basketball staff since 2029, the last five years as associate head coach.
In 2025-2026 Morrow, who was named to the ABIS Basketball Coaches Watch List, helped the Buckeyes to a 27-8 record, the program’s fifth consecutive season with 25 or more wins, and totaling six ranked victories. Ohio State’s 13-5 conference record was tied for the fourth-best in the league and the Buckeyes made their fourth Big Ten Tournament semifinals appearance in the past five seasons. Ohio State earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and was one of six teams to host four consecutive seasons. Individually, Jaloni Cambridge put together one of the best seasons in program history, scoring 813 points (ranks fourth among all-time program leaders and only trails Kelsey Mitchell) and making 305 field goals (ranks third in program history). Cambridge was on the national ballot for the Wooden Award, an All-American selection (AP, The Athletic, ESPN, USBWA, The Sporting News, honorable mention from USA Today), WBCA Coaches’ All-America regional finalist, unanimous All-Big Ten First Team selection and was on watch lists for the Naismith Trophy, Wooden Award and Dawn Staley Award. Five Buckeyes earned All-Big Ten recognition.
Ohio State finished third in the Big Ten in 2024-2025 with a 26-7 overall record, including four ranked wins, and a 13-5 mark in Big Ten play. Ohio State went undefeated at home (15-0) during the regular season for the first time since 2011-12. The Buckeyes earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
The 2023-24 team captured the program’s first outright regular season Big Ten title since 2009-10, finishing with a 16-2 conference record. Ohio State earned a #2 seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010, A total of five players were named All-Big Ten, highlighted by Celeste Taylor’s selection as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Following the season, two Buckeyes were selected in the WNBA Draft for the first time since the 2018 draft and the third time in program history.
In 2022-23, the Buckeyes made their first NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 30 years and finished with a 28-8 overall record. OSU earned a program-best nine wins against ranked opponents and recorded the most steals (406) in program history. Cotie McMahon was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year to highlight five All-Big Ten selections.
The Buckeyes won a share of the Big Ten regular season championship in 2021-22, finishing the conference schedule with a 14-4 record. OSU went on to earn a six-seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2017.
Morrow began her Ohio State coaching career in September of 2019 following a three-year run as an assistant coach for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky.
From 2007-2011, Morrow’s served as an assistant coach at Xavier University. In all, Morrow was with the Xavier program for 10 years, helping compile a 184-128 overall record and an 87-59 mark in conference action. The Musketeers also captured six Atlantic 10 Championships and advanced to four NCAA Tournaments highlighted by an Elite Eight appearance in 2010.
Morrow also has professional coaching experience, serving as an assistant with the Chicago Sky from 2017-2019.
Morrow also served as the director of basketball operations for two years at Colorado (2005-2007) for two years at Missouri State (2003-2005).
As a player, Morrow was a four-year standout guard at Tulsa from 1998-2002. She was the first player in Tulsa history with 1,000 points and 600 rebounds in a career. She finished her career ranking second in 3-point field goals (122), total field goals (427), rebounds (642), steals (201) and games played on the Golden Hurricane career charts and was third in scoring with 1,115 points.
Morrow was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference Second Team as a senior in 2002, averaging 12.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. She signed a free agent contract with the WNBA’s Seattle Storm in 2002 to become the first Golden Hurricane to sign a professional contract.
Morrow graduated from Tulsa in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management. Morrow earned her master’s degree in physical education from Missouri State in 2004.
