- 2011 Atlantic 10 Champions

Brealand Edwards begins his first season on the Fordham softball coaching staff, as the team's pitching coach.

Edwards brings a long history of coaching in the New York area to Rose Hill, serving as an assistant coach at both Manhattan College (2001) and Pace University (2002-10). He made his mark though as the head softball coach at Dutchess Community College for ten seasons, leading the Falcons to national and regional prominence. Over his stay, the Falcons competed in the NJCAA Nationals in 1992 and in nine NJCAA Regional Tournaments from 1992-96 and 1998-2001.

In his 10-year head coaching regime, Edwards compiled a 198-71 record. Prior to his stint at Dutchess, Edwards made his name in the Hudson Valley, founding the Hudson Valley Express travel softball program in 1990, for which he still serves as president. Under his tutelage, the Hudson Valley Express has grown to be the premier softball organization in the Hudson Valley region.

Edwards also opened the BATS Diamond Sports Training Center in 1995, which combines the latest in training equipment with the techniques of the most successful high school and college coaches across the country. B.D.S.T.C carefully instructs athletes in a progression of training fundamentals and teaches athletes to master all mechanics, from basic to advanced, with respect to the sport and position. In addition, Edwards has been PONY Director for the North Atlantic Region, head coach of the Hudson Valley Express 18U Gold team, head coach of BATS, a major women's team, and head coach of the Hudson Valley Region team in the Empire State Games for over 20 years.

In 1997, Edwards was inducted into the Dutchess County Fast Pitch Hall of Fame for his accomplishments and contributions to the development, continuation, and advancement of fast pitch softball.
