Biography

2017: Played in 43 games, making 42 starts, at shortstop or designated player, as a senior… Missed one month of action in April and May due to injury… Finishes her career with four straight Atlantic 10 championships and within the top-five of seven separate all-time records, including fourth in career batting average (.349), second in four-year batting average (.349), fifth with 245 hits, fourth with 164 runs, joint-fifth with 40 doubles, fifth with 10 triples, and fifth in stolen bases (49)… Slashed .356/.417/.481 during her senior campaign… Stole a career-high 20 bases, all before the injury… Named A-10 Player of the Week once… Began a seven-game hitting streak in the second game of the season, going 1-for-3 against #10 Arizona with a run scored (2/9)… Singled, walked, was hit by a pitch, stole two bases, and scored twice in a win over Tulsa (2/10)… Singled, walked twice, and scored in a win over Northwestern (2/11)… Matched a program record with three stolen bases, reaching four times via two singles, one double, and a walk, scoring once, in a win over Bryant (2/17)… Singled, stole second, and scored later in the day against Saint Francis (2/17)… Went 1-for-3 with a RBI, stolen base, and run scored again Elon (2/25)… Singled, drove in a run, walked, stole a base, and scored in a win over Georgia Southern (2/26)… Smacked two doubles, drove in a pair, and scored once against Rutgers to begin an eight-game hitting streak (3/3)… Went a combined 4-for-7 with three runs scored, a RBI, a double, and a walk in wins over Rutgers and N.C. 2016: Started all 60 contests, mostly at shortstop but also at second base, and rebounded from a slow start to her season to slash .294/.341/.412 during her junior campaign… Named A-10 Player of the Week once… Named to the Academic All-Conference team… Led the team with 204 at bats, totaling 60 hits, 45 runs, and 11 stolen bases… Ripped 10 doubles, four triples, and two home runs, while driving in 33 teammates… Walked 11 times to 13 strikeouts… Enjoyed 16 multi-hit games, second-most on the team, and was third in the squad with nine multiple RBI contests… Started the season out slowly, hitting .121 after 21 games, but busted out in a massive way with a scorching-hot 10-game hitting streak in which the junior amassed a .636 average (21-for-33) with 18 runs scored and 11 RBIs to raise her season line to .308… Delivered a two-out, two-run go-ahead double in the sixth inning to cap comeback win against DePaul, her first multi-hit game of the season, with a triple earlier in the contest, and two runs scored (2/19)… Went a perfect 3-for-3 in game two of a doubleheader against Providence in the team’s home opener, with a RBI single, one of three, in the third inning (3/11)… Scored three times, walking twice and singling in three at bats, and matching her career-best with two stolen bases against Saint Peter’s (3/12)… Tied the game up at 2-2 the following day against the Peacocks with a two-run single in the third inning, finishing the day 2-for-3 with a run, walk, and stolen base (3/13)… Scored the game-tying run in the seventh inning in a comeback win over Hofstra, finishing 3-for-5 on the day with three RBI and two runs scored (3/16)… Finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored against Towson (3/18)… Added to an already impressive day with two hits in three at bats with three runs scored against Mount St. Mary’s, including the walk-off run via run rule on a wild pitch (3/18)… Smacked RBI triple, the eighth of her career and joint fifth-most in program history, and scored twice against Mount St. Mary’s (3/19)… Went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a RBI and run scored in conference-opening win against Massachusetts (3/25)… Lone Ram with multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with RBI and run scored, in game one loss against Massachusetts (3/26)… Got the scoring started in game one at Saint Joseph’s with a RBI double, finishing 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and a run scored (4/2)… Went 3-for-4, all singles, with two stolen bases and two runs scored in win over Saint Joseph’s, with her first theft pushing her into the all-time top-10 in school history (4/3)… Blasted her first career home run in walk-off fashion against St. Bonaventure, a three-run blast, in the ninth inning after the Rams fell behind in the top of the frame; Even cooler, when she touched home plate, she also entered the all-time top-10 for that stat (4/6)… Had two extra-base hits, a double and a triple, in game two of the twinbill against the Bonnies, with two runs scored, including the game-tying run in the bottom of the seventh (4/6)… Tallied four singles in seven at bats, with a stolen base and two runs scored in a doubleheader sweep of Saint Louis (4/16)… In a doubleheader at Rhode Island, helped the team to a double-digit victory by batting 3-for-4 with a career-high four RBIs, on a RBI single and a bases-clearing single, while scoring twice, and adding a RBI double in four at bats in game two (4/23)… Capped off a terrific weekend at the plate with three extra-base hits, two doubles and her second home run, two RBIs, a stolen base, and matching a career-high with four runs scored (4/24)… Smacked a two-run single to right center, her only hit of the game, in a win over George Mason (5/7)… Finished the season with a six-game hitting streak, notching one hit in every contest, starting with a single and a run scored in four at bats in a win over Massachusetts in the A-10 Tournament (5/15)… Singled and drove in a run on a groundout in the Rams’ A-10 Championship-clinching victory over the Hawks (5/15)… Went 1-for-3 with a two-out single in the sixth inning against #5 Oregon in the Eugene Regional (5/20)… Again notched one hit in three at bats against Long Beach State, lacing a double to left center with one out in the third (5/21)…Finished up her junior campaign by inserting herself into four different all-time top-10's in the school's record books: Van Hoven ranks fifth, seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively, with 10 triples, 129 runs scored, 197 hits, and 29 stolen bases. Her .347 career batting average is the second-highest in program history, and her 204 at bats during the 2016 season is the eighth-most all-time...

2015: Voted First Team All-Atlantic 10 for the second year in a row at second base... Named Third Team NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) All-Mid-Atlantic Region at second base... Started all 56 games she played in... Slashed .384/.417/.460, with the .384 batting average leading the team and the sixth highest in single-season history... Led the Atlantic 10 with 76 hits, which is the second most in single-season history... 44 runs scored ranked fourth in the conference and second on the team... Recorded seven doubles and four triples, with the three-bagger's pacing the team and the second most in the A-10... Added 25 RBI while leading the Rams with 16 steals (in 20 attempts)... Constructed 26 multi-hit games... Recorded a nine-game hit streak near the end of the season and would hit safely in 15 of the final 16 games... Finished 2-for-4 with a run scored in the season-opening loss to Nevada (2/6)... Went 2-for-2 with two runs, a walk and a stolen base in the victory over Pacific (2/7)... Produced another 2-for-4 effort with two RBI and a run scored in a win over Portland State (2/8)... Singled and scored the Rams only run in their 2-1 loss to NC State (5/17) in the regional final...

2014: Played in 55 of 56 games as a freshman, making starts in 51 of those appearances… First Team All-Atlantic 10… Two-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week… Hit .367 on the year, good enough for second best on the squad… Her 61 hits tied for the team lead… Led the team in triples with two… Led the Rams in multi-hit games with 19, including five three-hit games… Her 10-game hitting streak tied for the longest on the team this year… Picked up her first collegiate hits with a 2-for-3 performance against the College of Charleston (2/15)… Went 2-for-3 against Cal Poly (2/20)… Recorded hits against BYU and #16 Missouri (2/21)… Went 1-for-4 and scored a run against #1 Florida (3/1)… Drove in the first runs of her career with two RBI in a 3-for-4 performance against Omaha (3/1)… Went 2-for-2 against Syracuse (3/2)… Tallied three hits in four at bats against Western Michigan (3/8)… Went 2-for-3 and picked up a RBI in the second game of a doubleheader at Virginia (3/20)… Tallied two hits in the first game of a doubleheader at George Washington (3/22)… Went 3-for-6 and scored three runs in a doubleheader vs. George Mason (4/5)… Drove in a run at Lehigh (4/9)… Went 4-for-7 in a doubleheader at Rhode Island (4/12)… Recorded two hits against Massachusetts (4/19)… Went an astounding 6-for-7 in a doubleheader sweep of St. Bonaventure (4/22)… Followed that up by going 4-for-7 in a twin bill at La Salle that Saturday (4/26)… Led off the Atlantic 10 Championship with a 3-for-4 effort against Massachusetts (5/8)… Went 2-for-3 with a RBI and two runs scored in the A-10 clinching victory over Saint Louis (5/10)… Registered a hit and a run in the Tallahassee Regional contest with Florida State (5/16) and scored a run against South Carolina (5/17)...

Before Fordham: Four-year varsity softball player at Cicero-North Syracuse High School in Cicero, New York... Batted .527 in in 2011, earning CNYCL Co-Player of the Year honors as well as First Team All-CNY... Hit .410 as a junior, receiving First Team All-CNYCL... Helped Cicero-North Syracuse to three Class AA NY State Finals and earned Scholar Athlete status in each of those seasons (2010-12)... Member of TC Tremors 18U Gold for summer ball, the same club that current Ram Gabby Luety played for when she signed with Fordham... Member of the National Honor Society and the high honor roll... Received Scholar Athlete awards in both softball and volleyball... Garnered awards for Excellence in the Humanities and Business while at Cicero North Syracuse...
