Stephen Georgio was named an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Fordham in August of 2019 after completing a summer internship with the Rams.

Georgio has been charged with the design, implementation, and evaluation of speed, strength, and conditioning for Men’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, and Women’s Rowing, and well as assisting with Football. Georgio will also be using his certifications and knowledge to develop the whole athlete by analyzing nutritional habits, tracking diets and body composition evaluations with student-athletes.
 
In 2017-2018 Georgio served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach/Adjunct Professor at Iona College where he supervised all aspects of strength and conditioning for the Women’s Basketball, Track and Field/Cross Country, Softball, Baseball, Women’s Lacrosse, and Women’s Swimming programs. He also worked closely with the Nutrition staff at Iona and helped create the Strength and Conditioning and Sports Nutrition social media platforms.

Prior to his stay at Iona, Georgio served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning in Woburn, Mass. Georgio also spent the summer of 2016 at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., as a Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Coach.
 
A 2016 graduate of Springfield College with a degree in Movement Studies, Georgio earned a master’s degree from Merrimack College in 2017 in Exercise and Sports Studies.

His professional Certifications include a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) under the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Level 1 Coach under USA Weightlifting (USA-W), Level 1 Nutrition under Precision Nutrition, Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms) and CPR/AED.
