Matt DeMeo was named assistant academic advisor at Fordham University in March of 2024. He was promoted to Coordinator of Academic Support for Men's & Women's Basketball in July of 2026.

DeMeo arrived at Fordham after serving as an assistant lacrosse coach and offensive coordinator at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2022-2023. He helped the Golden Bears to a No.21 national ranking in the MCLA Division 1 at end of season.

Prior to his time at Berkeley, DeMeo was a Student-Athlete Academic Advisor (Success Coach) at Stony Brook University in 2022 where he ensured and supported the academic success of Student-Athletes
on Stony Brook's football program.

DeMeo received a Bachelor of Science degree in International Trade and Transportation from SUNY Maritime College in January of 2021 and a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University in May of 2022.

DeMeo was a part of the lacrosse team at SUNY Maritime from 2018-2020, setting program career records for goals (142) and points (186) as well as single season marks for goals (79) and points (101). A two-time captain, he received NCAA All-American Honorable Mention accolades in 2019, the same year he was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year and second-team All-ECAC in 2019.

DeMeo played one season as a graduate transfer at Stony Brook in 2021-2022, receiving NCAA Academic All-American honors.
