The longest-tenured member of the Fordham staff, Will Braden was elevated to the position of director of player development in the summer of 2024. Prior to his current role, he has served as the team's video coordinator and player development coordinator.
Braden started his Fordham career as the assistant video coordinator in 2020 before being promoted to the role of player development coordinator in May of 2021. As the assistant video coordinator, he formulated advance scouts for assistant coaches and produced post-game edits to help promote player development. He also was responsible for filming all practices and evaluating and cutting game footage of potential recruits.
Prior to coming to Fordham, Braden served one season as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Sarah Lawrence College, where he helped plan practices and was responsible for nationally recruiting and planning on-campus visits. He also created the fall and the spring strength and conditioning program and was responsible for all player development, individual workouts, and skill work during practice. Braden helped lead the team to its first conference playoff win in school history and worked closely with First Team All-Skyline Conference selection Omar Jamaleddine.
A 2019 graduate of The University of the South where he received a degree in environment and sustainability, Braden was a four-year member of the men's basketball program. During his four years, the team complied a record of 71-38. During his senior season, the Tigers went 22-7, won the SAA conference championship, and made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998. Those 22 victories were good enough for the second-highest win total in program history.
Prior to his senior year, Braden spent the entire summer of 2018 in Los Angeles interning for NBA Trainer Drew Hanlen. He assisted Hanlen with Pre-Draft Workouts and individual workouts with NBA players such as Kelly Oubre, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, and Zach Levine.
