Biography

One of the top NCAA FCS tight ends... named 2010 First Team Preseason All-American and Preseason First Team All-Patriot League by Phil Steele[apos]s College Football Preview... has 85 career receptions for 870 yards and seven touchdowns... named an Honorable Mention NCAA FCS Preseason All-American by Consensus Draft Services and one of the top ten wide receivers in the NCAA FCS (the only tight end on the list) by The Sports Network... a two-year starter who moved into the starting lineup at tight end in 2008 and will man the position again in 2010... ranked fourth in the Patriot League in receptions per game (5.7), 34th in the NCAA FCS, and ninth in receiving yards per game (57.6)... caught 63 passes in 2009 setting the school mark for most receptions in a year for a tight end... finished fourth on the 2008 squad in receptions and fifth in receiving yards... grabbed a four-yard touchdown pass in the 2009 Spring Game... gives the Rams a big target from the tight end position as well as a big blocker... caught a 31-yard pass in the 2008 Spring Game... gained precious experience as a freshman in 2007... brother, John, is the Rams[apos] record-setting quarterback who was drafted in the fifth round by the Arizona Cardinals last year. 2009: Started all eleven games at tight end for the Rams as a junior... hauled in 63 passes for 634 yards (10.1 yards/catch) and six touchdowns... the 63 receptions were the most all-time for a Fordham tight end and the fifth best total in school history... ranked fourth in the Patriot League in receptions per game (5.7), 34th in the NCAA FCS, and ninth in receiving yards per game (57.6)... had two 100-yard receiving games last fall, a ten-reception, career-high 138-yard game against Old Dominion on October 3rd and a career-high 13-catch, 102 yard contest against Holy Cross on October 31st... caught seven passes for 90 yards in the season opener at Rhode Island... hauled in six passes for 65 yards and one touchdown (9 yards) against Bucknell... made five receptions for 52 yards in the win at Cornell... registered four catches for 35 yards against Columbia and four more for 34 yards in the Lafayette game... closed out season with three catches for 21 yards and one touchdown (one yard) in the win at Georgetown. 2008: Appeared in all eleven games as a sophomore, starting ten... caught 22 passes for 236 yards (10.7 yards/reception) and one touchdown... had four receptions for 51 yards at Lafayette... grabbed three passes for 20 yards in the season opening win over Rhode Island... hauled in three passes for 74 yards in the Marist win... finished with two catches for 12 yards at Dayton... caught first touchdown pass, a one-yard reception from his brother, in the win over Georgetown... made two catches for 34 yards against Colgate and two more for 15 yards at Lehigh... finished with two receptions for 13 yards in the Yale win and two for nine yards at Holy Cross. 2007: Appeared in seven games as a freshman, both at tight end and on special teams... made one tackle on special teams. Before Fordham: A graduate of Burges High School in El Paso, Texas... lettered in football, baseball, basketball and track at Burges... earned First Team All-District honors on both offense and defense as a senior... also named Second Team El Paso Times All-City on defense and preseason First Team All-City in 2006... caught 37 passes for 468 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior... also had 18 tackles and three interceptions on defense... served as a team captain... selected to the All-Star City of El Paso East-West game.
