Biography

Moved into the starting lineup at inside linebacker last fall...slated to start at linebacker again in 2009... fourth leading tackler on the 2008 squad... second in sacks and tackles for loss last fall... stepped in and filled the holes left by the graduation of 2007 All-Patriot League linebackers Earl Hudnell and Dominique Owens... enjoyed a solid 2008 spring season, capping it with a team-high seven tackles, six solo, in the Spring Game, including three sacks... an active defensive player who can usually be found near the ball... had a successful freshman season, appearing in all 12 games at linebacker and on special teams... led all freshmen in tackles... showed his versatility with a big 38-yard rush off a fake punt in the NCAA FCS playoff game at Massachusetts. 2008: Appeared in all eleven games as a sophomore, starting eight... compiled 51 total tackles, 24 solo, including 11.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks... second on team in tackles for loss and sacks and fourth in total tackles... also had four pass breakups and one fumble recovery... made seven tackles, four solo, including 3.5 for loss and two sacks in the season opening win over Rhode Island... also deflected a pass in the Rhode Island game... notched seven stops, two solo, with one for loss and returned a fumble 12 yards for a touchdown in the season finale at Bucknell... made six tackles, two solo, against Lafayette... recorded five stops, including four solo and one for loss, and deflected a pass at Dayton... also had five tackles, including 2.5 for loss and one sack, in the Liberty Cup win over Columbia... registered five tackles, two solo, and broke up two passes at Holy Cross... had four stops, one solo, in both the Colgate and Lehigh games... added a tackle for loss and sack against Lehigh. 2007: Appeared in all 12 games as a freshman... recorded 41 total tackles as a freshman, 22 solo, including 3.5 for loss and 3.5 sacks... also recovered two fumbles and broke up a pass... finished with six tackles, two solo, in the Albany game... also had six stops, three solo, versus Dayton... registered five tackles, four solo, in the win at Lafayette while also forcing and recovering a fumble to thwart a Lafayette scoring opportunity... made four solo tackles in the Lehigh win and four more, including three solo and 1.5 sacks, in the shutout win at Marist... also had four tackles, two solo, in the season-opening win at Rhode Island while recovering a fumble that led to a Fordham touchdown... made three solo stops, including one sack, against Bucknell... also had three tackles and ran a fake punt 38 yards to set up Fordham[apos]s first score in the NCAA FCS playoff game at Massachusetts. Before Fordham: A graduate of Barrington High School in Barrington, Illinois, where he lettered in football and track... Honorable Mention All-State as a senior... also named All-Area and All-Suburban League... conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2006... named team Defensive MVP... named to the Top 100 High School Players list and Top Five in the Mid-Suburban League by the Chicago Sun-Times... selected as a Player to Watch by the Chicago Tribune prior to the 2006 season... named MSL All-Academic as a senior... served as a captain of the varsity track team for three years... broke Jamil Walker[apos]s (Wisconsin) 200-meter dash record at the state track meet... won the league 400m title with a 50.05 time and placed second in the 100m (11.18)... named Illinois High School Coaches[apos] Association 8A All-Star Team - Honorable Mention in track.
