Before Fordham: A graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he lettered in football... served as a team captain in 2007... received the 2007 George F. Smith "Family"/ "Coaches" Award... attended same high school as former Fordham All-Americans Barry Cantrell and Kirwin Watson.

Personal: Born October 7, 1989... son of Jane Sadd and Stephen Smalec... has a younger brother (James)... a Business Administration major.
