Tyler Henderson, who served on the football staff at the University of Florida for two years, was named an assistant football coach at Fordham University in February of 2024. Henderson will be in charge of the Ram cornerbacks again in 2025.

In his first season with the Rams, Henderson helped the Fordham defense lead the Patriot League and tie for tenth in the country with three defensive touchdowns and rank second in the league on both first downs defense and red zone defense. The cornerbacks were led by All-American Nahil Perkins, who was second in the NCAA FCS in passes defended (1.7/game)

Henderson served as a College Personnel Assistant with the Gators in 2023 after being named defensive backs graduate assistant prior to the 2022 season.

Prior to his time in Gainesville, Henderson was a member of the Columbia University football staff as a cornerbacks coach in 2021 and at Bowling Green as a defensive graduate assistant from 2019-20.

During his time with the Lions, he helped elevate the cornerback’s unit as Columbia finished second in the Ivy League in interceptions (12), passing defense, defensive efficiency and third in conference for 1st downs allowed. Additionally, Henderson coached cornerback Will Allen to an all-conference selection.

At Bowling Green, Henderson served as a Defensive Graduate Assistant where his responsibilities included film breakdown, recruitment of student-athletes, and working with athletes.

Prior to his tenure at Bowling Green, Henderson worked as an intern with both the National Football League (2018-19) and Atlanta Falcons (2017-18), and served as defensive backs coach at IMG Academy for 11 months. At the NFL, Henderson assisted head of football development and NFL International Will Bryce as he helped him develop elite international football prospects while they prepared for NFL training camps. With the Atlanta Falcons, he took on a multitude of roles including the analysis of film, along with personnel reports and data collection, which resulted in their 2017 NFL Playoff run. At IMG Academy, Henderson coached three players who went on to play Power 5 NCAA Division I football, assisted with recruitment of student-athletes, taught technique, installed defenses, and game-planned for weekly opponents.

A 2017 graduate of Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, Henderson competed in track and field for the Lumberjacks (2013-15). He completed an internship with the Dallas Cowboys and served as a sports coach with Velocity Sports Performance while he was attending Stephen F. Austin.

A native of Charlotte, N.C., Henderson also has experience in high school coaching as he served as assistant defensive backs coach at IMG Academy during the 2016 season.

His father, Jerome, is the current defensive backs coach for the New York Giants and has coached in the NFL for 17 seasons. A former second round pick out of Clemson, he played in two Super Bowls and also served as the director of player development for the New York Jets.
