Kenny Anunike, a former graduate assistant with the Ohio State football program, was named defensive run game coordinator/defensive line coach at Fordham University in April of 2020.

In his first year at Rose Hill, Anunike’s defensive line helped the Rams lead the Patriot League, and rank 24th in the NCAA, in scoring defense (19.7 points per game). Senior defensive lineman Jonathan Coste earned First Team All-Patriot League honors while senior lineman Jeremy Imperati was named to the second team.

In 2018 and 2019, Anunike worked with Ohio State associate head coach/defensive line coach Larry Johnson guiding the defensive line. The Buckeyes were a perfect 13-0 in the regular season in 2019, winning the Big Ten title and earning a berth in the NCAA College Football Playoffs where they fell to Clemson in the semifinals. Ohio State was ranked third nationally in both major polls for the second straight year.

In 2018 Anunike was a part of the Buckeyes’ 2018 Big Ten Conference championship and Rose Bowl championship season.

Among the players he worked with at Ohio State were Chase Young, Nick Bosa, and Dre’Mont Jones.

An Ohio native and graduate of Olentangy High School, Anunike played collegiately at Duke University. A two-time all-ACC honoree, he left Duke as the program’s all-time leader in career sacks (15) and he also contributed 148 total tackles and 26 tackles-for-loss. He earned two degrees while in Durham: his bachelor’s degree in biological anthropology and anatomy and a master’s in liberal studies. Anunike also earned a master’s degree in sports coaching at Ohio State in December of 2019.

Anunike was signed as a rookie free agent by the Denver Broncos in 2014. He spent two seasons in Denver, including being a part of the Super Bowl 50 winning team (over Carolina), before signing as a member of the New York Jets’ practice squad in 2016. In 2015 he was awarded the Broncos’ Community Ambassador Award for unparalleled commitment in volunteering, inspiration and leadership in the Denver community.
