Biography

2006: Drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 14th round (pick #410) of the MLB First Year Player Draft... First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection... Tri-Captain… Broke the school record for career hits at 241, surpassing the former record of 236 set by Tom Stein from 1995-99 in the final series of the year, as well as career doubles with 55, surpassing Pete Deluca who collected 50 doubles from 1989-92.. Hit .376 (68-181) with 17 doubles, 13 home runs, 48 RBI, 46 runs scored and a .696 slugging percentage, all team-highs for the Rams as well as career-highs... Led the Atlantic 10 in slugging percentage and tied for the lead in home runs while ranking third in the conference in hitting, seventh in RBI and runs scored, eighth in doubles and tenth in hits... His 13 home runs was the third-best single season total in Fordham history while his 17 doubles tied for fourth-best... Had a monster performance in a doubleheader at New Orleans, going 4-for-6 with three doubles and three runs scored in game one, while finishing 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in game two (2/24)... Went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI versus Fairfield (3/5)... Hit a home run with three RBI at FIU (3/15)... Totaled four hits and six RBI in the Xavier series (4/1-2)... Was 3-for-4 with three doubles and three runs scored against Temple (4/7)... Finished with four hits and two runs scored against Seton Hall (4/11)... Collected seven hits and four RBI in the Saint Joseph's series (4/21-23)... Drove in seven runs in the Duquesne series (4/28-30)... Was 2-for-4 wth a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI at Rhode Island (5/5)... Ended up 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, and three RBI at Charlotte (5/19)... Preseason All-Conference selection by Baseball America.
 
2005: Was once again one of the main offensive weapons for Fordham... Selected as team co-MVP with teammate Jeremy Bourgeois, after leading the team with a .323 batting average... Had 14 doubles, five home runs, 37 RBI, and six stolen bases... Ranked 10th among the NCAA leaders as the "Toughest to Strikeout"... Started all 50 games he played in... Had a team-high 20 multi-hit games to go with eight multi-RBI games... Hit safely in 38 of 50 games... Had a career-high four RBI to go with two hits at Old Dominion (3/13)... Matched that performance with two hits and four RBI at La Salle (3/25)... Had his fifth career four-hit game against Duquesne (4/4)... Was 3-for-6 with a home run and three RBI versus Fairfield (4/12)... Was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI at Seton Hall (4/13)... Had a home run and four runs scored at Columbia (4/20)... Had consecutive three-hit games against Massachusetts (4/24) and Iona (4/26)... Had a pair of hits in Fordham's finale against Duquesne (5/25).
 
2004: Started all 52 games he appeared in… Led the team in runs scored (50), hits (66), and total bases (101)… Ranked second in home runs with six and doubles with 13, while being third on the team in batting average at .332 and runs batted in with 33… Also stole six bases in nine attempts… Hit .312 in conference play with 24 runs scored and 16 RBI… Registered the team’s longest hit streak of the season at 15 games (3/14-4/9)… Recorded 14 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI contests… Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the week of April 26th after collecting 13 hits, six RBI, and scoring 14 runs in six games… Tied a career-high with four hits three times during the season… Was 4-for-4 with four runs scored, two RBI, two doubles and a home run versus Columbia (4/21)… Went 4-for-5 with three runs scored, two RBI, and a home run versus New York Tech (4/6)… Had a 4-for-5 performance with a pair of RBI and runs scored against Long Island (5/4)… Was 3-for-5 with a home run against Rhode Island (5/8)… Was a combined 5-for-7 with four runs scored and two RBI in a doubleheader sweep at Massachusetts (4/24).
 
2003: Had a solid freshman campaign, starting all 43 games for Fordham… Hit .288 on the year with 11 doubles, a home run, and 14 RBI… Was 11-for-13 in stolen base attempts… Made only one error in 82 chances in the outfield for a .988 fielding percentage… Had 10 multi-hit contests, while having three multi-RBI games… Went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs scored, two stolen bases, and two RBI versus New York Tech (4/15)… Had three RBI and his lone home run against Long Island (3/16)… Also went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in another game versus Long Island (3/15)… Went 2-for-4 with a double and two stolen bases at Rhode Island (4/27)… Was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI versus Hofstra (3/26)… Also recorded three hits and an RBI versus Fairfield (4/2)… Had two hits and two stolen bases at Iona (4/30).
 
Before Fordham: Earned varsity letters in four sports at Boston College High School... Played three years of varsity baseball, serving as team captain his senior year... Two-time Catholic Conference All-Star... Named to the Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic team and the Baseball Factory All-American team... Recipient of the Boston College High School Athletic Director's Award and Scholar-Athlete Award... Member of the Honor Roll and Student Council.
